Hi everyone!

Competition day is approaching rapidly and entries are coming in fast.

If you’ve entered please arrive on the day 30 minutes before your category is due to start please see the timetable here.

Our email system is having issues at the moment so please don’t contact us to confirm your entries. If you don’t receive an email on Thursday night regarding the competition then please arrive 45 minutes before your event just to confirm you’re on the list. We’ll have a ‘CHECK IN’ team working on this when you go through the main entrance.

We are SO excited and really looking forward to so many amazing planes, throws and successes.

See you there!

Happy Flying,

We are doing our challenge today…..and have noticed the website change…. we were going to submit just the top 6 challengers from the whole of K-6… Now I have noticed that you are doing 3 primary categories. Do we just do the top 6 from each category or can any of the children who reach the qualifying distance go through and register for our school…. or is it just the top two from each category, giving us 6 altogether???? Confused….. and i need the information ASAP as we are doing our competition today.

    Thanks, Annie Lee-Joe

We are holding a competition at our school on Friday the 5th of August. Do you have a cut off date for us to submit competitors?

I am looking for the information posters for putting up around schools that were around last year but cant find them for this year.
    Any help

  • Marianna says:

Can we please have some more details about location and time? Our kids are very excited to enter. Thanks!

      Hi Marianna,

We are holding the Paper Plane Challenge indoors at the Sydney University Sports and Aquatic Centre starting at 9am on Saturday 27th August. We will be posting a schedule later this week for each age group so keep on the lookout for this information. You need to hold your school event before August 22nd and post your results on our website by midnight on Monday 22nd August.

  • Anne Lee-Joe says:

Just wondering when we are going to have a schedule for the university event ready?

  • Anjali Rao says:

When did you announce the Monday 22nd deadline for entries ? I can’ find it anywhere on the website. We have our school challenge planned for Tuesday 23rd :((
    Thanks for your help!

  • Lisa says:

Can I confirm the distance is measured from start to where plane either touches the ground or an object

    • pilots says:

Yes that is correct Lisa. If it slides for a few metres then you have to measure it back where it first touched.

  • Enrica says:

i have had trouble entering our finalists. I entered all our finalist on Friday 19th August & tried again this afternoon, but they don’t appear on the leader board.

    • pilots says:

Hi Enrica, your students have been registered successfully on both Friday and earlier today. For some reason the Leaderboard is now not automatically reloading, but don’t worry too much as the Leaderboard is just a fun thing but will not effect what happens on Saturday at the main event.

  • Tracy Steere says:

Hi, Do we know the times as yet? Thanx Tracy

  • Jane Samways says:

Is there any further confirmation that entries have been successful when names are not going up on the leaderboard? I entered two students this morning.

    Thank you,

    • pilots says:

Yes Nicholas and Callum are registered. Around Thursday we will send out a confirmation to all registered entries with last minute information.

  • lisa says:

I have submitted entries for the final yesterday online but my students are not showing on your leaderboard. Does that mean that I failed to enter them properly for the final?

  • Paul says:

It doesn’t say in the rules what you can and can’t use to make your plane. Is it as simple as only using your hands and the paper, or are other materials and tools allowed?
Also, the three attempts, are these with the same plane, or can you make another? And is there a time limit for making the planes?
    Just seeking some clarification.

  • RITA says:

Will the kids have desk or bench to make their planes?
